PAI Introduces CriticalCare GPS; Product Includes Cancer Advocacy
Columbia, S.C. – Planned Administrators Inc. (PAI), a leading national third party health claim administrator, is bundling patient advocacy with insurance benefits to offer covered members and their families benefits beyond the financial value of critical illness coverage.
“CriticalCare GPSSM incorporates a cancer advocacy component driven by the NavigateCancer Foundation, which includes access to resources and specific, relevant information that aids patients in making decisions about their course of care,” said David Huntington, PAI’s chief operating officer. “When someone is diagnosed with cancer, it can be very stressful on them and their family. While insurance has always provided some financial relief, we wanted to bring something more to the table.”
Huntington said PAI is excited about its new partnership with the NavigateCancer Foundation, an organization that equips cancer patients and their families to better understand their disease, potential treatment paths, and even how to ask the right questions of their doctor.
“The integration of our services with PAI through CriticalCare GPS is a great example of how an employer can make a difference for an employee in a time of need,” Sharon Bigelow, founder and executive director of the NavigateCancer Foundation. “Our mission is to support the patient’s ability to self-advocate and make decisions.
“Through CriticalCare GPS, patients and their families can receive services over the entire course of treatment for no cost to them, with no limit to the number of consultations,” she said.
PAI is making CriticalCare GPS available to local and national groups.
