SC BlueChoice Medicaid Adds Roper St. Francis Healthcare to Network
Columbia, S.C. – BlueChoice® HealthPlan of South Carolina Medicaid has accepted Charleston area-based Roper St. Francis Healthcare, serving seven counties, to its statewide network of health care providers.
The agreement signed recently means that, effective Nov. 15, BlueChoice® Medicaid members will receive in-network benefits at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. The 657-bed health system includes Roper Hospital, Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital and ancillary facilities.
The agreement also includes the physicians in the health system’s medical groups in several counties in the area.
“Adding Roper St. Francis Healthcare facilities to our network gives our Healthy Connections Medicaid members more access to excellent health care at nationally accredited facilties,” said BlueChoice Medicaid Vice President Scott Graves.
“BlueChoice supplements physician care plans with health education resources for our patients. Being in-network is a great collaboration that will benefit Medicaid members,” said David Dunlap, president and CEO of Roper St. Francis Healthcare.
BlueChoice Medicaid is a managed care plan in which South Carolina Medicaid members select a primary care doctor who provides care and/or arranges for care with specialists. Members receive their normal Healthy Connections coverage along with discounts on fitness center memberships, allergy products and vitamins, health programs such as weight management and more. Members with chronic diseases may receive help managing their conditions through BlueChoice Medicaid’s ConditionCare program.
